In the episode ‘Thru Thick and Thin’ Michael reacts badly to weight gained by his wife, Janet; suddenly self conscious about her body image, Janet has a dream in which Michael and their three children are fat and fight over food. The eldest daughter Claire (Jennifer Freeman) not only has a fat face and fat suit but an exposed fat stomach.
The makeup was by Kevin Haney and Steve Prouty and must have been an interesting challenge: four fat makeups from headcast to application in eight days with the one day of filming subject to the restricted working hours for children! replicants has published an interview with Steve Prouty who worked on the makeup with Kevin Haney.
