As Alex struggles to write his novel Polina’s maid undergoes a number of transformations in his mind: the Scandanavian Ylva becoming the German Elsa who becomes the Spanish Eldora before finally becoming the American Anna. Each of them is embodied by Kate Hudson who also plays Alex's stenographer Emma Dinsmore. Sophie Marceau also has dual roles as both Polina and as Alex’s ex-girlfriend.
A light (but under-rated) romantic comedy that ia a real blast from the past apart from its selfconscious playing with textuality.
