Anonymous is a ‘celebrity based hidden camera show, where via some state-of-the-art prosthetics we give celebrities a day away from their famous face, and in the process allow them to set up family, friends and fans’; the emphasis is on entertainment.
Anonymous was first seen in Ireland and the format is distributed internationally by Eyeworks. It is claimed that options on the format have been sold in twelve countries. So far local variants have screened in Spain and Germany; in Greece the broadcaster has decided not to pursue the project. I don’t know the status of the other option deals: France, Norway, the USA, the UK, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil have all been referenced by various sources.
