The American

George Clooney walks casually through a formulaic thriller with an inevitale ending.

After surviving an ambush an assassin and gunsmith takes refuge in a small Italian town. While there he undertakes a comission to supply a custom-made weapon for Mathilde (Thekla Reuten), a Belgian assassin.

But he may also be becoming a liability for his contacts, especially when he decides to get out of the business.
