The Taelon scientist Rho-ha (Kari Matchett) stands trial for murder in Washington. His defence is that he acted in self-defence, his emotional control being damaged following the experimental injection of human DNA. But Zo’or reveals that Taelons are impervious to bullets and thus Rho-ha was never in any real danger. Rho-ha is sentenced to death but releases his life energies in a Taelon ceremony.
