make me a man: Angels in America

Angels in America

Overblown, over-hyped, over-long and gimmicky (was there any dramatic reason – as there was in Spider say – for these multiple characters?): still its heart was in the right place so that must explain all those Golden Globes. Diatribe over.

Whatever, it had some nice makeups including Meryl Streep as an elderly Rabbi (one of the gimmicks): it’s right at the beginning so you don’t have to sit through it all.

The main Angels in America page features other Meryl Streep characters including a ghostly Ethel Rosenberg as well as Emma Thompson as the Angel of America, Nurse Emily and a homeless woman (though this last is only seen in very dim lighting).

The makeup

J Roy Helland was makeup and hair designer; Joseph A. Campayno was key makeup; Kelly Gleason was makeup artist; John Caglione Jr was makeup artist (Al Pacino).
