Elsa Lanchester had a dual role in this movie: as both Mary Shelley and as the Monster’s Mate. As a gimmick the credits stated the Mate was played by “?”.
Jack Pierce was again responsible for the makeup as he had been for the original monster. It’s not a great makeup but it’s a classic.
