late medieval makeups: The Messenger . . .

Yolande D’Aragon (Faye Dunaway), the shrewd and manipulative mother-in-law to Charles the Dauphin, was the one who saw the potential of Joan.

Faye commented: ‘We saw the high forehead idea in paintings, this incredibly elegant, very high forehead.’ In one interview Faye Dunaway actually claimed not to remember whether or not she had shaved her head (Duh!); as you can see here the effect was achieved by fitting a wig that raised her hairline.

Kuno Schlegelmilch was special effects hair stylist supervisor & special effects makeup artist: Magali Ceyrat and Marianne Collette were the key makeup artists.
