C18th makeups: madame de Pompadour

Madame de Pompadour (1721—1764) was a well known courtesan and the famous mistress of King Louis XV of France. She first caught the eye of the French king when she was invited to a royal masquerade ball in 1745. Their affair apparently ended by 1750 but he remained devoted to her until her death. She was an accomplished woman who planned buildings like the Place de la Concorde and the Petit Trianon.
