Cecil B DeMille’s interpretation of the Cleopatra story starred Claudette Colbert as a man-hungry Cleopatra.
Again we have a very contemporary-looking Cleopatra whose makeup is more 1930s than ancient Egyptian: yes I know that Cleopatra was as much Greek as Egyptian but those eyebrows belong on a 1930s movie star and she wore the same hairstyle in other movies with a contemporary seeting.
