Epic Movie

The story features on four not-so-young orphans: one raised by a curator at the Louvre (where an albino assassin lurks), another a refugee from Mexican ‘libre’ wrestling, the third a recent victim of snakes on her plane, and the fourth a ‘normal’ resident of a mutant ‘X’-community. The hapless quartet visits a chocolate factory, where they stumble into an enchanted wardrobe that transports them to the land of Gnarnia where they join forces with, a wise-but-horny lion to defeat the evil White Bitch of Gnarnia.

At the beginning of the film a sexy Mystique (Carmen Electra) bows away an advance by the ‘normal’, though she later finds him more attractive when he’s a hero. Carmen said: ‘I worked with [the] directors on Date Movie and on the first Scary Movie. So we’ve built this relationship, and when they called me up last-minute and asked me to be in this movie I thought it would be fun to dress up as Mystique and get to work with the guys again.’

The movie also featured a White Bitch and old-age makeups on the four orphans, as well as a variety of fauns and look-alikes.

The makeup

Douglas Noe was the makeup department head; Matthew W Mungle was responsible for the prosthetic design and application; Ed French, Kelcey Fry & Jamie Kelman were the prosthetic makeup artists; Ruth Haney, Gabriel De Cunto, Jamie Kelman, Margie Latinopoulos, Corinna Liebel & Deborah Patino were the makeup special effects artists; Leslie Devlin was the key makeup artist; Chelsea Behrens, Silvi Knight & Thea Samuels were the makeup artist; David DeLeon was themakeup artist for Jennifer Coolidge.

Matthew Mungle (W.M. Creations inc) records that the makeup was created in only two weeks and that application took five artists and three and a half hours. Unfortunately, as with many makeup intense movies, I find it difficult to credit particular makeups though I understand that Matthew Mungle himself, Jamie Kelman, Corinna Liebel and Deborah Patino were involved in this makeup application– if anyone can clarify the credits, please themakeupgallery.
