The Mummy & The Mummy Returns

With the help of an American adventurer, Evelyn Carnahan, an English librarian, starts an archaeological dig at the ancient city of Hamunaptra unaware that another group is interested in the same site. But things get really complicated when a curse is unleashied awakening a Mummy.

Anck Su Namun (Patricia Velazquez) the exotically decorated mistress of the Pharaoh and no one but the Pharaoh is allowed to touch her. But behind his back she and the High Priest, Imhotep, are in love – and then the Pharaoh returns unexpectedly and notices that her makeup is smeared.

Anck Su Namun is killed and Imhotep is mummified alive. Now he is determined to bring Anck Su Namun back to life.

In The Mummy Returns PV also appears as Meela Nais, the reincarnation ofAnck Su Namun.

The makeup

This was an effects-loaded movie (a veritable army of makeup and makeup effects artists worked on it) but I believe that Sarah Berry was the chief bodypainter for Patricia Velaquez and was responsible for Anck Su Namun’s paint-job assisted by Carol Tucker. Aileen Seaton was the key makeup artist.
