Nip/Tuck has featured everything from nose jobs to complete facial reconstruction. Christian Troy and Sean McNamara are clearly a pair of very versatile surgeons – what the hell, it’s a great series.
As with most portrayals of cosmetic surgery, usually the actress is transformed by makeup for her character’s pre-op appearance returning to her own appearance for her post-op look.
Not all the makeups here involve cosmetic surgery: Julia McNamara (Joley Richardson) is seen aged in a flash forwards; Kimber Henry (Kelly Carlson) is seen fat in one of Christian’s fantasies; Willow Banks (Mini Anden) is seen after a car accident; Darlene Lowell (Lisa Darr) is a double amputee; etc etc.
Tom Burman and Bari Dreiband-Burman (The Burman Studio) were responsible for the special effects makeup; James MacKinnon & Eryn Krueger Mekash were the makeup department heads on various episodes; Stephanie A Fowler was the key makeup artist for most episodes; Thomas Floutz, Vincent Van Dyke, David Dupuis, Scott Stoddard & Rocky Faulkner were among those who worked on the special effects makeup.
