Fake tattoos
Featuring actresses who have played tattooed characters (as opposed to characters with a tattoo): this section will only feature female characters with large, tribal, multiple or facial tattoos.
The developments by Temptu and Tinsley Studio have revolutionised the application of fake tattoos and made the creation of heavily-tattooed characters a far more realistic proposition for film-makers (eg Prison Break, Alpha Dog, Welcome To Collinwood).
There was an interesting article, ‘Ink on Film’, on fake tattoos in the movies in Inked (Fall 2007).
