Karl (Bruce Dern), a war veteran and tattoo artist, is obsessed with both tattoos and Maddy (Maud Adams). After he is hired to design a temporary tattoo for one of Maud’s photo-shoots, he loses it and the result is inevitable: Maddy is kidnapped and finds herself with a set of artwork that does not wash off.
