boob jobs: A Dirty Shame

A John Waters movie: head injuries and lust in blue-collar Baltimore. Caprice (Selma Blair) is a go-go dancer known to her adoring fans as Ursula Udders: after several nude and disorderly violations she and her stupendously enlarged breasts are sentenced to home detention

As Selma described her role and the makeup:

I play a girl named Ursula Udders. I’m hideous basically. I am a sexy hideous beast. I am a dancer. I fancy myself to be a dancer. I’m really not terribly good at it. . .It [the makeup] was a major, major ordeal! The breasts were four body casts, and mould making, so it was basically four hours of prosthetics every day. First gluing them down, then the makeup. There's nothing humble about me anymore. I've been naked in front of everyone.

John Waters commented:

They only go on once. There are three versions. The biggest ones, the cleavage, and under-a-sweater. To put them on, each time you put them on, it’s a one shot deal. I think they were $5,000 for the nude ones. It took three hours to put them on and as the lights go on, they start to crinkle. At the end, they just come off in like a hunk of plastic on the floor like the wicked witch when she melted. That’s what they look like at the end of the day. You don’t put them back on. They last for so long. There is an expiration date and it’s hours.

Tony Gardner was special makeup designer; Eleanor Sabaduquia was key makeup artist (Los Angeles). Conor McCullagh sculpted and applied Ursula’s breasts: Conor also worked on Say It Isn’t So and There’s Something About Mary so he seems to developed some specialist expertise in this area. I’m grateful to Conor for allowing me to use the large photo of Selma onset above.
